14-17 September 2014
Muenster University Center (MUC), The University of South Dakota
There are three airports available for you to choose as the end stop of your flight to the workshop:
1. Sioux Falls Airport (FSD):Located in Sioux Falls, SD, around 1 hour to Vermillion.
2. Sioux GatewayAirport (SUX): Located in Sioux City, IA, around 45 minutes to Vermillion.
3. Omaha Airport (OMA): Located in Omaha, NE, around 2 hours to Vermillion.
NOTE: We highly recommend you to choose Sioux Falls Airport as your destination airport. We plan to offer frequent shuttle rides between the Sioux Falls Airport and Vermillion.
Please provide your flight information HERE.
The Department has lodging arrangements with 3 local hotels. If you would like to reserve a room please email the department secretary Mary.Nielsen at usd.edu and she will hold a room for you. Please give her the date you are arriving and the day you will be checking out.
The deadline to hold a room is August 12th, after that date the rooms will be available to the public.
We will be offering shuttle rides between the hotel and the workshop meeting location. The tables below list the scheduled shuttle rides. If your flight times are not accommodated by these times, use the link above to provide your flight times and email Joel (email address below).
The pickup point at the Sioux Falls airport (FSD) will be at baggage claim. The shuttle driver will be holding a sign saying "Ge Workshop at the Univ. of South Dakota Shuttle".
The pickup point for the shuttle from the conference to Sioux Falls (FSD) will be just outside the meeting room known as "Ball Room A". Ball Room A is the room in which the Sunday reception and the Junior Scientists sections met.
Note: the Sioux Falls airport (FSD) is a smaller airport with generally short lines. Arriving at FSD an hour before your departure time generally provides fairly comfortable margin.
Several restaurants are located within Muenster University center where the meetings will be held and quite a few other restaurants are within walking distance.
Questions about local transportation can be directed to Joel.Sander at usd.edu .
